Brandi & Robby I Amber Wiseman, WNC Photographer

I had a great time getting to know both Brandi, Robby and their entire family. It was such a bitter cold wedding day, but we managed just fine. Luckily you don’t see the chill bumps on Brandi as she stood outside in her strapless gown.

After the ceremony in Bostic, the reception was held at the Forest City Club House! Once there, you were transported into a winter wonderland. The floral centerpieces, lights and snowflake wedding cake made this a beautiful and magical event! Congratulations to the both of you…I wish you years of joy and happiness together!

A Baby Boy, A Bundle of Joy I Amber Wiseman, WNC Photographer

I am so lucky to have the opportunity to photograph such sweet, beautiful babies!!! I get so excited when parents wants me to photograph their little ones. I know first hand how quickly those first weeks turn into months and then into years. I for one always heard my momma and daddy talk about how the time just seemed to fly by, but honestly I never really knew what they meant until I had children of my own. I’m so glad that I have photos to look back on. In the middle of this crazy life we often forget things and thus the importance of capturing every little moment that we possibly can. In years to come I hope that the photos below will be looked back upon with love and the fondest of memories. Thank you again Katie for allowing me to be apart of another one of your “special moments.” You are a terrific young lady. The Lord has blessed you beyond measure, as He has me and many others. You have a darling little boy, who will bring you joy unspeakable!!!

Just Married I Amber Wiseman, WNC Photographer

I had a fabulous time photographing Kaylie and Brandon’s wedding at the Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg.  There was so many fine details of this wedding that made it one of the most lovely wedding I shot in 2009.   It truly was a cheerful event to be a part of.  This is simply a taste of their special day, but I want to say congratulations to this happy couple.  I wish you only the best!!!

Seriously I Amber Wiseman, WNC Photographer

Collin Powell once said, “Surround yourself with people who take their work seriously, but not themselves, those who work hard and play hard.”  That’s why my friends I am sharing this personal post!

Back over the summer my 4 year old daughter asked me if she could take some photos of me.  It’s hard to tell a persistent little girl “NO”, besides she is always my model when I asked her to be. I don’t know what my fear was…it could have been having her hold my expensive camera with her little hands or perhaps it was the fact that I was going to be on the other side of the camera for a change.  No matter the reason, I gave in and let her have her fun.  She was sure to give me direction and tell me exactly what to do.  Mommy, do this…mommy, do that!!!  She was especially adamant that I make every crazy face known to man.  Many of her photos of course were out of focus and I think the majority of them had me missing the top of my head, but nonetheless she felt like she was doing mommy’s job and that she was doing a great job at it.   I must say that I had alot of fun looking through the images she snapped and thought I would share them here.  This my friends goes to show that I am not to serious…I do, as mentioned above, take my work seriously!!!  However,  life is to short  not to have a little fun.  I had so much fun with my little Geneva and the photos below are the cherished memories of that special time we shared!!! Here are some of her favorites…..

Large Groups I Amber Wiseman, WNC Photographer

Large groups can be some of the trickiest because you are working with so many people.  When I say large this usually means more than 5 people.  These groups can consist of adults, children, babies, pets etc… No matter what you are dealing with you can usually expect at least a few closed eyes, turned heads, open mouths and flying elbows.  Snapping multiple shots of the large group will give everyone a few chances to make a good picture, so be aware I try to lay on the shutter.

The best thing when dealing with a large group is planning.  What you plan to do with your photos can make a significant difference in the planning.  For example, we don’t hang wristwatches on the wall because frankly you just wouldn’t be able to see it’s small face and therefore you would never know the time. The same applies to family and group photos.  If you plan to have a group shot and want to order small prints then you are somewhat defeating the purpose.  Family shots are about being able to identify people and you want a photo large enough to achieve that thus the importance of planning for your shoot.  Make a list of exactly what you are looking for and what you hope to achieve.

Here are a few shots that I did this fall of a large group (total I think was 13).  We broke of into some smaller groups as well and we had a great time resulting in many lovely shots.  So if you are considering booking an appointment for a large group, contact me and lets start the planning.  Then we are sure to capture a few shots worthy enough to be blown up and hung on that wall of yours!!!

Jenna + Andrew = Complete I Amber Wiseman, WNC Photographer

I have been lucky to have recently shot several engagement sessions, this for me is one of the best times to really get to know a couple.  I tend to ask a lot of questions: like how did you meet, how did he propose, where are you going on your honeymoon, where will you live….the answers to all of those questions along with a dozen more really tell you a lot about a couple.  So…for all of those future Wiseman Photography couples…you have officially been forewarned, I rarely ever run out of words and if I do, well I have stopped breathing and you must quickly call in some emergency personnel.  I look forward to discovering a little about each couple and what makes them, “THEM!”  By doing so I hope that it will allow me to capture photos that speak about who they are.  Here is the start to Jenna and Andrew’s story together….
